چکیده

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are highly mobile wireless networks that are designed to support vehicular safety, traffic monitoring, and other commercial applications. The main benefit of VANET communication is seen in active safety systems that increase passenger safety by exchanging warning messages between vehicles in vanets where the topology change is very high a single protocol is not sufficient to show good performance. Since all the nodes are mobile in nature and the mobility rate is high the links between the nodes gets broken easily. So employing a reactive protocol like AODV to find a path to the destination involves more number of control packets which in turn increases the routing overhead in the network. If the location of the nodes are known priory then finding a path to destination is going to be as simple as possible. Therefore a hybrid protocol which combines the features of reactive routing and geographical routing to give good performance is proposed. This research combines AODV with GPSR routing to give H_AODV.This protocol combines the reactive routing with the location information of all nodes in the network. With the known location information of all the nodes it is easy to find a path between the source and the destination which reduces the control overhead in finding a path to the destination. The proposed protocol shows good performance with high packet delivery ratio, low end-to-end delay, low routing overhead. The main issue in designing our protocol is that it uses all the location information of the nodes given by GPSR and gradually transforms to reactive routing when the location of the nodes could not be available.

An Improved Multicast AODV Routing Protocol for VANETs

Vehicular Ad-hoc network (VANET) is a collection of vehicular nodes forming a temporary network without the aid of any centralized administration or infrastructure. VANETs have no stable topology due to its dynamic nature of nodes. So, reliable and efficient routing is one of the main challenges in VANETs. Therefore, so many routing algorithms and protocols have been enhanced and developed for ...
